Colony Court Resident Profile

Say Hello to Robert

Robert Tiede

Colony Court Resident

This month of February 2021 brings us to introduce another of our newer residents, Robert Tiede.

Robert was born in LeSueur County on the family farm on September 4, 1929. His family moved to Waseca County while he was still young, and he attended country school there as well as Pemberton High School. After graduating, he worked the family farm until he was drafted. Robert spent two years in Germany and when he returned, he took over the family farmstead and started his own family with his wife, Shirley.

Robert & Shirley raised a boy and a girl together and spent a lot of free time going to dances and the movies. Robert also enjoyed following his favorite baseball teams, notably the Twins. When they retired farming, they bought a house in Waseca. Shirley passed away a few years ago and Robert stayed in his home until he had a bad fall and found caring for a home difficult. “I’m tickled pink to live at Colony Court. The food is good and I like my apartment.

We like you too Robert, and we’re glad you chose us!

Thank You

My dad and our family were so blessed to have such an amazing group of people care for my dad. Along with getting to know the other residents was truly a wonderful gift. They are all our second family.”
